Cavaliers

€ 175.00

This painting was made using a troop of Cavalier mushrooms, melanoleuca polioleuca, which appear every year on the east facing lawn. They can appear singly or in small troops, I seem to be lucky and get the troops!  They have a lovely velvety brown cap. The common cavalier is supposed to be edible, however, they can be mistaken for similar but toxic mushrooms so they are not on my list of edible fungi.Cavalier Singlejpg

This artwork was made using wild Irish garden mushrooms picked sustainably from the garden around the house.

The frame is handmade using recycled wood with glass which can be hung.

I used a brown board and a white mount. It is 36cm x 46xm and weights 2.5kg.
